Visiting New Orleans With A Baby | Tips & Places To Go

Hello Darling!

Over the years during our road trip to Florida we have made it a tradition to stop in New Orleans for a few nights. Hunter and I absolutely adore the city. From the history to the music and of course the delicious food. This years stop was a little bit different as we had baby girl with us but non the less it was still a BLAST! So I thought it would be fun to chat a little bit about visiting New Orleans with a baby + tips & places to go while you’re there.

Visiting New Orleans With A Baby

New Orleans is not necessarily a city you would think to be a family friendly environment. However, this city has so much more to offer than just Bourbon Street that the entire family can enjoy.  Here are a few tips to follow and places to visit with your baby in tow.

Kid Friendly Hotel

Ritz Carlton New Orleans

This is our all time favorite hotel in NOLA. It is such a beautiful spot with a prime location  right along Canal Street in the French Quarter. It is quiet, safe and has unbeatable amenities  and service. We love this hotel as a family because it is easy to access, it’s extremely safe and they make your kiddos feel right at home.

Note- instead of hauling in your pack and play make sure to ask for a crib in the room. This was so nice to have for baby girl and allowed for an easy check in process.

Tips

-Bring a stroller

the city is super walkable, especially if you are staying in the Quarter. So make sure to pack your favorite stroller to explore the city in.

-Bring extra water and a portable fan

especially during the summer months you can expect heat and humidity in NOLA. So I recommend bringing extra milk or water to keep baby hydrated + a portable fan is always a good idea

-Let restaurants know you have a baby and ask if they have high chairs.

The majority of the restaurants in the French Quarter we found to not have high chairs. We made do with just bringing our stroller in or by placing her in our laps. However restaurants are small in the Quarter so a stroller is not always feasible. Next time we are going to bring a portable highchair with us.

Places To Go
