Our Family Christmas In Dallas

Our Family Christmas In Dallas

Hello Darling!

This past weekend we celebrated Christmas in Dallas with my family. As our family has grown not all of us are able to be together on Christmas Day. So we decided to pack up and headed to spend a festive weekend in Dallas.

Our Family Christmas In Dallas

If you have followed me for awhile, you probably know by now that Dallas has a super special place in my heart. Hunter and I both went to college there and I lived there for a year after as well.  My sister and brother in law now live in Dallas so we take any opportunity to visit. Dallas in my onion is one of the most beautiful cities, especially during the holidays.

This weekend was full of so many fun festive activities. From our hotel, to where we ate, what we did – I am so excited to share our festive itinerary.

Where We Stayed

Let’s start by chatting about where we stayed. We had the absolute honor or working with and staying at the HALL Arts Hotel. This is the first time we had the pleasure of staying here and let me tell you, it was amazing! Located in the spectacular Dallas Arts District—the largest contiguous arts district in the country – HALL Arts Hotel embodies the vibrancy and culture that define this international artistic destination.

As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the friendliest of staff in their stunning art filled lobby. Our favorite part of the lobby was the beautiful Christmas trees out on display.

We had the pleasure of staying in the Sculpture Suite and as soon as we walked in we knew we would never want to leave. This spacious suite was perfect for our family. The modern artistic feel filled each space in the room and it was truly breath taking. We were blown away by the attention to detail and hospitality. The staff made sure to have a crib in the room for baby girl as well as toys, baby shampoo and even a kids book about Dallas to read before bedtime.

Our favorite part of the room was the beautiful bathroom including a soaking tub. It made the weekend even more enjoyable.

After settling into hotel we changed in to our Christmas best and headed to the French Room for holiday tea. Located just 5 minutes away from the HALL Arts at the historic Adolphus Hotel this ia a holiday must when visiting the Dallas area. This was our second time enjoying holiday tea but this year was even more special as we were able to bring baby girl along.

Note- It is important to make reservations at the latest a month ahead of time.

After tea we went back to the hotel, enjoyed a post tea nap and got ready for dinner. This night we enjoyed our first holiday dinner with the family at Barcelona Wine Bar. They have the most delicious tapas + sangria.

The next morning we slept in, got a quick workout in at the hotels fabulous gym and picked up a few light breakfast items from their grab and go station down in the lounge.

Note- the hotel has taken extra precautions to keep everyone safe during COVID. From mandating masks thoughout public spaces, to hand sanitizer stations, turning off maid services & in room dining, to limiting hours in their lounge/restaurant. We felt very safe and well taken care of. You can read more about Hilton’s COVID-19 Policies HERE

For brunch our family met up with us at the hotels beautiful restaurant, Ellie’s. We enjoyed their delicious brunch which included avocado toast, burgers, egg sandwiches, salmon and much more. Also, no brunch is complete without bottomless mimosas which we enjoyed immensely.

The rest of the day was filled with opening gifts and fun family Christmas activities. That evening we decided to change up the pace, put on our holiday best and head to a nice dinner at Local. It was our first time dining her and it’s experience we will remember forever. Located just minutes away from the HALL Arts hotel in Deep Ellum in the historical Boyd Hotel, landmarked as the oldest standing hotel in Dallas, circa 1908. Their seasonally driven menu is out of this world! They are most known for their delicious tasting menu, which is what we enjoyed along side wine pairings. It was the perfect ending to our day full of Christmas celebrations.

For our last morning at HALL Arts we woke up, made a nice cup of Nespresso in our room and headed out to explore the area. One of our favorite parks, Klyde Warren is located just down the street from the hotel. This beloved park is centered right in the middle of downtown. You can find food trucks lined up and down the park, live music, and a beautiful Christmas tree. It almost feels like a mini Central Park.

After our morning walk, we headed back to the hotel to check out. This was so bittersweet as we truly had the best time! We were blown away by every aspect of the stay but most of all we fell in love with the staff. From the moment we walked in they made us feel comfortable, safe and welcomed. We can’t wait to return back to stay again soon!
