My Hospital Bag Checklist + Must Have’s (UPDATED)

My Hospital Bag Checklist + Must Have's

Hello Darling!

We are officially two weeks away from my due date which means it’s go time! We officially have all of our bags packed and we are ready to go when this little girl decides to make her appearance. I did quite a bit of research when it comes to what to pack for the hospital. Not wanting to over pack but not wanting to pack too little was key for me. Figuring out what to not only pack for myself but for baby, and dad. Overall I am pretty pleased and feel as prepared as I can be with my hospital bag checklist + must have’s and I am excited to share it with you today.

My Hospital Bag Checklist + Must Have’s ( Updated )

Excited to update this list and share which items we did not use and which ones we are thankful we brought
For Baby Girl:
  • Soft blanket
  • A swaddle
  • Zip swaddle ( our hospital provided a zip swaddle so we did not use our own)
  • 1 gown, NB onsie, 0-3 onsie ( the hospital had everything we needed)
  • Going home outfit
  • 2 bows
  • 2 pairs of socks
  • Paci ( we need up using this right away. All babies are different but this was a lifesaver with Isla Grace )
For Mom:
  • Delivery gown  (I loved wearing my own labor and delivery gown. However, if I could do it over again I would probably wear the hospital gown during labor and after birth change into this pretty gown. Either way, it was so comfortable and nice to feel comfortable while laboring)
  • 2 pairs of dark colored button up pj’s ( PJ’s set & night gown )
  • Dark colored leggings / dress to go home in
  • Nursing tank
  • Nursing bra
  • Fuzzy socks
  • Slippers ( did not end up using my slippers. I opted to wear my hospital socks the whole time)
  • Robe
  • Blanket   (loved having my own blanket with me. It made things much more comfortable. I even used it during labor. )
  • Towel + wash cloth
  • Pillow & pillow case
  • Nursing pillow  (did not end up using my Boppy. However I would recommend bringing it just in case)
  • Flip flops for shower ( I opted to wait and take a shower at home but I am glad I brought these just in case)
  • Toiletries & makeup
  • Ponytail holder, clips, headband, shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo
  • Prenatal Vitamins
For Dad:
  • 2-3 Changes of Clothes
  • Pajamas
  • Toiletries
  • Sweatshirt, Blanket
  • Slippers
  • Ear Plugs
  • Eye Mask
  • Pillow & Pillowcase
Electronics/Etc:

I wanted to make sure everything was well organized in my hospital bag so I purchased these packing cubes from Amazon and they are AMAZING! Not mention they are super budget friendly. Something I not only recommend for packing your hospital bag but for any trip in general.

After baby girl joins us, I will make sure to circle back around and update this list sharing what we used and didn’t use.

If you are preparing to pack a hospital bag yourself I hope that this is super useful to you. There is something that comes with feeling prepared & ready and packing your hospital bag is definitely a huge step! Praying for you momma, you’ve got this!

YOU ARE SO LOVED!

XOXO,Tay
