Anniversary Photoshoot + Relationship Q & A

Hello Darling!

This is a post Hunter and I are beyond excited to share! Over the past few months we have received quite a few questions about our relationship, marriage, and more. So today, we thought it would be fun to finally answer all of your questions plus share our anniversary photoshoot from Washington, DC.

Relationship Q & A

How did you and Hunter meet?

Tay– Hunter and I met in college through mutual friends. We both attended Dallas Baptist University. He was a basketball player and I was a music major. I would sing the national anthem at basketball games, and that was where he and I first noticed each other.

How long did you date?

Tay– We dated for four years

Hunter– Too Long

How long was your engagement?

Tay– We were engaged for 6 months. Since we dated for so many years we were ready to be married and did not want to have a long engagement.

When did you know Hunter was the one?

Tay– To be honest, as cliché as this sounds I knew he was the one from the moment I laid eyes on him. There was something so special about him. Our first date really sealed the deal though. He asked me to come to church with him and then we went back to his house where he made me lunch ( of course Mexican food- the way to this southern girls heart) and sat on his couch talking for hours just getting to know one another.

As Husband and wife, how did you decide to pursue blogging full time?

Tay– This is a question we surprisingly get quite a bit. When I first started TaylerMalott.com, it really was just a creative outlet for me to share my life with others. About a year ago when we started to see the potential of an incredible business we both sat down to talk about how to pursue this as a business. We knew it would not necessarily be easy, especially since we were newly weds (lots of changes already) we decided to go for it though. We talked budget, goals, as well as what I needed to do to help contribute financially for our family. So with that in mind, I decided to pursue a few part time positions until I am able to provide the income to officially blog full time. We have had to communicate and work through this together. It definitely has not been easy but so fun to pursue and build a business together.

Does Hunter help you with the blog?

Tay– Yes, Hunter helps me tremendously with the TaylerMalott.com. From editing, helping me take IG photos, to pitch emails, and business goals he is such a huge help!

What is the biggest thing you’ve learned throughout your first year of marriage?

Tay– That is really hard. To be honest, I have learned more this past year than I have my whole life. Becoming one with each other is a real thing. So communication is key, patience is a must, trusting in your spouse is so important, and choosing to love one another every day is key. Marriage is not easy but it is the most wonderful, and rewarding gift the Lord has blessed me with!

Hunter– Communication is key. Talk through everything, even when it’s not easy. You are now one so you have try your best to think and act as one. Without full communication that is impossible.

What is your favorite thing about each other?

Tay– That seriously is a tough one. Hunter is my very best friend and I love all that he is, but I would have to say his heart. He has the most genuine, and kind heart of anyone I have ever met. As soon as you speak to him and see his sweet smile you feel it.

Hunter– Tay is my best friend, and my favorite person. There are many things I love about her but her heart would have to be my favorite. She has the biggest heart for others. The way she loves, encourages, and even hursts for others is so beautiful. I am one lucky guy.

How do you manage a work/life balance?

Tay– This is something we are learning how to do daily. It’s especially hard when you work from home but you have to set boundaries. Setting times to put the phone, computer and work away. Making sure to take care of your home, and each other is so important. Something if I am honest, I am not always the best at.

How tall are you both?

Tay– 5’9″

Hunter– 6’6″

( equals tall babies haha)

What is your favorite thing to do for date night?

Tay– My favorite date night currently is movie nights at home. Opening up a bottle of wine, cooking one of Hunters favorite meals, lighting some candles and watching a movie. THE BEST!

Hunter– We currently live down the street from Studio Movie Grill and my favorite date night with Tay is walking to the movies on Tuesday nights to enjoy their $5 movie night. Perfect for that newly wed budget.

YOU ARE SO LOVED!

XOXO,Tay and Hunt
