The Complete To Do List For A Maid Of Honor

The Complete To Do List For A Maid Of Honor

Hello Darling!

Happy Wedding Wednesday! Today I am thrilled to share the complete to do list for a Maid Of Honor. As soon as my sister asked me to be her Matron Of Honor, I began to research exactly what my duties entailed. Compiling and putting together a to list of everything that needed to be done before the wedding and the day of the wedding. This complete to do list shows exactly what a Maid Of Honors duties are and everything that needs to be done on her part.

The Complete To Do List For A Maid Of Honor

Before The Wedding

– Let Bride Know You Are There For Any Wedding Planning Help She Needs

It is so important to let your best friend or or sister know that you are there for her. Wedding planning can be a tad bit stressful but there is comfort in knowing that your loved ones are there to help.

– Go Wedding Dress Shopping With The Bride

Every bride dreams of the day she finds her dress. It is important to be there with her to support, encourage and help her as she makes this exciting decision.

– Attend Dress Fittings

It’s not only important to go wedding dress shopping but also attend the dress fittings after. This way you know exactly how to help her get in her dress as well as bustle the dress on the wedding day.

– Communicate With Bridesmaids

The Bride has so much on her to do list and the last thing she needs to worry about is communicating with the bridesmaids. As the MOH it is your job to start a group text, communicate to do’s, times, and dates to the bridesmaids. Making sure they are in the know!

-Plan And Host Bachelorette

What better way to celebrate than a bachelorette party! This is one of the best duties you will have. Start planning as early as possible and communicate/ ask for help from the bridesmaids.

– Plan And Host Bridal Shower

Shower your Bride! Put together a party to celebrate her and her soon to be hubby. This is a great time to host with others as well. Chat with bridesmaids, family members, and friends to put together the best shower!

– Keep Records Of Shower Gifts

At the shower it is the MOH’s job to keep track of the gifts and record who they are from for thank-you notes. This is a huge help to the bride! Some registries have the lists of who they are from online but it is always safe to have the hand written list to make sure you  do not forget anyone.

– Attend Pre-Wedding Parties

It is so important to be at all or as many as the pre-wedding parties as you can. Showing your love and support for the Bride and Groom.

– Prepare And Write Toast

At the wedding reception you will be giving a MOH speech. It is important to give yourself plenty of time before the wedding  to prepare and write the best heartfelt toast.

Wedding Day

-Be The Brides Assistant For The Day

The wedding day is here! As the MOH it is your job to make sure the Bride has everything she needs that day. Help with whatever you can!

-Be In Communication With The Wedding Coordinator and The Mother Of The Bride

These are two people it is so important for you to be in communication with this day. The three of you will be working closely together to make sure everything runs seamlessly for the Bride.

-Create and Bring Emergency Kit

Put together a kit that has everything and more that you may need that day. Think advil, safety pins, needle and thread, tide to go pen, tums, lint roller, etc. Better to be prepared for anything!

-Make Sure The Bride Is Happy And Fed

It is your job to make sure the Bride has everything she needs this day. That includes food. So pop the bubbly, arrange breakfast to be delivered, and keep an eye on her making sure she eats something every once and while.

-Keep Track Of Time

This day will fly by faster than you know it! Make sure to keep an eye on time, and itinerary for the day. It is your job to make sure the Bride, and Bridesmaids are where they are supposed to be, when they are supposed to be there.

-Help Her Get Dressed

Such a special moment! You get to help the Bride get into her dress. ( Why it is important to attend fitting so this part goes smoothly )

-Make Sure Bridesmaids Are All Set

Check in with the Bridesmaid. Make sure they are all set with shoes, jewelry, hair, flowers, etc. Also make sure they know where they are standing in line.

-Deliver Grooms Gift From Bride

Your Bride may have a gift to give her Groom the day of the wedding. Customarily, it is the MOH’s job to make she that gift is delivered to him at the correct time.

-Keep Grooms Ring Safe

This is a very important one! It is your job to keep track of the grooms ring and that it stays safe until it is on his finger.

-Bustle Brides Dress

Before the Bride and Groom head into the reception make your way back into the bridal suite, and help bustle the Brides train so that she can dance the night away!

-Give Your MOH Toast

Along with the Best Man it is your time to shine and give that toast you have been preparing for! Remember this is a moment and speech the Bride and Groom will remember forever!

-Place The Brides Bags In Getaway Car

The wedding coordinator may have this under control however, it’s always good to double check and make sure the Brides bags get into the getaway car.

-Help Load Wedding Gifts

After the the Bride and Groom have left help the family load up all of the gifts into the correct vehicles. Depending on what the Bride wants you may want to offer to be the one to take all of the gifts until they get back home. A great idea is to grad the newly weds spare key before the wedding so that you can place all of the gifts in their home to open when they get back.

-Clean And Take Care Of Bridal Suite

Lastly, make sure the bridal suite is clean and taken care of. Round up the bridesmaids to make sure they have all of their things, throw away trash, and pack up any forgotten items.

That is it! I hope this to do list helps you. As a Maid of Honor soak up every second, and take this time to love and celebrate your best friend. This is a season you will remember forever!

YOU ARE SO LOVED!

XOXO,Tay
