With Valentine’s Day just a few days away I decided to make a quick run to pick up some of the best Valentine’s Day treats. Two of my very favorite spots to pick up these treats in Houston are located right within the River Oaks Shopping Center. So I grabbed my rain coat, and headed towards River Oaks.

Parisian Macarons

My first stop of course had to be for Macarons. One of Hunter and I’s guilty pleasures are macarons. After falling in love with them in Paris years ago, I have been on the search here in Houston for a superb macaron spot. My dreams came true when I found Macaron by Patisse.

Walking into their location in the River Oaks Shopping Center you feel as if you have been transported to a sweet Parisian destination. With towers of macarons surrounding me, I picked up a few boxes to give to my loved ones. This is such a fun gift because you can personalize it to the flavors that they love most.

Pro tip: pick up a box for yourself and sit in the cafe to enjoy a few before heading to your next destination. 😉

Gourmet Artisan Chocolates

My second stop was a quick walk over to Cacao & Cardamom. It was my first time stepping foot into this beautiful chocolate shop and I was blown away! From the gold flowing chocolate fountain to the aroma of chocolate it was a dream!

The sweet C&C staff were so kind to share some of their favorite flavors with me, as well as give me a few samples to try. I went with a personalized box of chocolates but loved that they had a few pre wrapped boxes available to grab and go just for Valentine’s Day.

To be honest, I could have spent all day in these two spots. Both made the gift buying experience so special and why I believe they are truly the best spots to pick up Valentine’s Day treats in Houston.
