Curling Wand: Drybar | Sweater: Saltflat | Jeans: Sezane |Ring: David Yurman

Hello Darling!

Today I am super excited to finally share, how I create my old fashion waves. I have received several requests over the past few months to share how I create this hairstyle and today is finally the day.  🙂 This look is super easy and as you may have noticed, definitely my go to hair style. For years I have been using a curling iron but recently just switched to a wand and I’m loving it! Not going to lie, wands always scared me because I could not figure out how to use one without burning myself or getting “crunchy” curls. As soon as I tried the Drybar wrap party styling wand  though, I finally learned how. It’s super easy to use and creates the most gorgeous waves and curls.

HOW I CREATE MY OLD FASHION WAVES

Before I put any heat on my hair I always make sure to use a product that will protect and smooth my curly hair. My favorite product to use is the Kevin Murphy Smooth Again Anti-Frizz treatment .

STEP ONE

As soon as my hair is dry I begin to section my hair off with my favorite Drybar clips. I then go section by section, wrapping my hair around the wand from the closet side to the handle down to the bottom with the wand pointing downwards. I leave my hair on the wand for a few seconds then pull the wand out slowly with one hand and catch my hair with the other hand gently dropping the curled piece. After I curl each piece I move them off to the side making sure not to run my fingers through or brushing them just yet.

STEP TWO

After each section is curled, I spray the Kevin Murphy shimmer shine spray to add a little bit of shine, plus it smells heavenly. After that I use my wet brush and brush through all of my hair.

STEP THREE

Once I brush through my hair I gently rub a small amount of the Ouai rose oil to my hair to smooth everything out. I then brush through my hair one more time and spray my hair with the Moroccan Oil hair spray. Then voilà I am done!

This hairstyle is my favorite because, it is absolutely beautiful and chic but it is also quick and easy. I have linked all of the products I use to create this look, plus a few of my current favorite hair products for you below.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial. It as so fun to share with you. As always, if you have any questions just let me know in the comments below.

YOU ARE SO LOVED!

XOXO,Tay
